Pure and Strange
unconsumption:

Artist/designer Stuart Haygarth’s “Framed” installation at Victoria & Albert Museum was part of the recent 2010 London Design Festival. While many of Haygarth’s works are made from discarded materials, I’m not finding any mention on either the V&A Web site or The Guardian’s or Telegraph’s that says the frame pieces in this work were indeed discards, though many eco-blogs say they were. (The installation at the V&A Museum was, in fact, sponsored by a framing company.) I did find, however, this complimentary Telegraph story about Haygarth.
Anyway, Haygarth’s work, in general, is cool, and the idea of reusing frame pieces to adorn a staircase, in particular, is very cool.
